The Essie Spring collection takes its inspiration from classic French style and the carefree joy of retro pastels. I love these colours and they are proving extremely popular with all my clients.
Essie nail polishes are around since 1981 when she launched her first collection of 12 colors, some of which are still the most popular( Blanc, Bordeaux and Baby's Breath to name a few).
With each season new and exciting colours are released. I think the quirky names are really fun and cannot wait to see whats new for the summer!

An example of an old classic is Essie Merino Cool. Its one of those colors you can pop on to match any outfit. I'm guilty of choosing this over every other colour on most occasions!!
Even Kate Middleton prefers Essie polishes and she wore Essie Allure on her wedding day! Needless to say its now one of the most requested colours for natural manicures and as a base for French manicures.
At the moment I'm trying out Essie Snakeskin Magnetics special effects.
Magnetic nail polish has been around for a while now, and
quite a few mainstream nail polish brands have been unable to resist this nail
art trend. Magnetic polishes contain iron powder which reacts to a magnet that
is embedded into the lid of the polish. You brush a coat on and hold the magnet
over the polish (without touching it) and get instant nail art.
Essie are usually very shy of gimmicky nail products and trends and try really
hard to keep it classic, even resisting glitter polishes until last year.
Called “Repstyle,” the magnets make a pattern that looks decidedly reptilian.
They come in six metallic shades which actually look fantastic on their own or with using the
magets in the cap.
Snakeskin as a nail trend first made news back when Snakeskin Pedicures were introduced last year in the states. Dior also had a manicure using a crackle polish in its
fall 2012 collection but I think Essie have mastered the look.
I use first base as my base coat and good to go for my top coat as it helps set the polish.
